Meet With an Advisor
In Person
Advising is offered in-person at the Locust Grove Campus, Fredericksburg Area Campus, and Stafford County Center. Students wanting to meet with an Academic Advisor are best served by making an appointment in Navigate; walk-ins can be seen subject to advisor availability. Wait times can vary.
Online
Online advising appointments can be scheduled through Navigate and are held via Zoom.

Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
New Students
Complete the following steps before scheduling an appointment with an Academic Advisor.
- Complete the Application for Admissions
- Complete New Student Online Orientation
- Meet with an Admissions Coach
- Make an Appointment for New Student Advising through Navigate
Current & Returning Students
Do you need help scheduling classes, connecting to college programs, or getting student support?
- Make an Appointment for General Advising using Navigate
- Web registration is open to students who know what classes they need. Review How to Register for Classes.
Transfer Students
Have you completed college credits at another school and want to transfer to Germanna?
- Make an Appointment for General Advising using Navigate
- Students wanting to transfer college credit from other schools to Germanna should bring a copy of all prior transcripts in order for the advisor to assist. Unofficial copies can be used for initial review, but official copies will be required to award credit.
If you attend another institution and just want to take a few classes to transfer back to your home school, follow the steps for Visiting Students
Express Advising
Express Advising is available through the Zoom Contact Center, Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Not available during college closures (planned or unplanned), holidays, or weekends, and is subject to change without notice.
Express Advising is for...
- Schedule adjustments (moving/updating 1-2 courses)
- Confirmation of courses before updating program of study
- Prerequisite course check
- How to view schedule and look up courses
- Transcript evaluation process status updates
- Graduation review (unofficial)
- Transient student registration and placement (will need transcripts!)
