Paying your Tuition

Payment or Payment Plan Online (Nelnet)

To pay through Nelnet (ePay) or set up a payment plan:

1. Log onto MyGCC
2. Click on “VCCS SIS, Student Information System.”
3. Select “Account Details” in the “Tuition & Payments” tile
4. Select either “Make a Payment” or “Apply for Payment Plan” from the menu options on the left side of the screen.
5. Follow the prompts to complete a payment or set up a payment plan.

Payment of the $30 enrollment fee and the deposit are required to start a payment plan.

Payment by Mail or in Person

Payments can be made in person using check or money order at the Fredericksburg, Locust Grove or Stafford locations. Payments by check or money order can be mailed to:

Locust Grove, VA 22508

Check or Money Order Requirements:

1. Make check or money order payable to Germanna Community College
2. Include Student Name
3. Include Student ID Number

Please allow sufficient time for mail processing so that payment is received by the Payment Due Date noted above. Enrollment is not complete until payment is posted once received.   Germanna cannot accept checks or money orders that exceed the amount of tuition or fees due. 

Anticipated Financial Aid (Including Scholarships)

To check your current financial aid:

1. Log in to MyGCC
2. Click on “VCCS SIS, Student Information System”
3. Click on “My Student Information.” This will take you to your Student Center.
4. Select the "Financial Aid" tile, then select the appropriate Federal Aid Year for Germanna Community College
5. Choose “Pending Financial Aid” on the left side of the page.
6. Click the yellow bar to show your adjusted aid award.
7. Pay any amount showing in the “Total Due” column by clicking the “Make a Payment” or “Apply for Payment Plan” link.
   *If no amount is there, then you have enough aid to cover all your charges. No payment is due and no further action is required.
8. If no Anticipated Aid is showing on your account, and all your “To-Do List” items have been completed, please contact the Financial Aid Department at financialaid@germanna.edu for more information.

Third-party Payment Agreement

Please submit your third-party letter of credit to us at studentreceivables@germanna.edu.

Once it has been applied, you should see a reduction in the charges you owe on your Student Account.

Please note that some third-party payers do not cover mandatory fees or ACCESS course materials fees, and any amount they do not cover would need to be paid by the student before the due date.  If you are not sure what you may owe, please contact us.

Veterans’ Benefits

All necessary paperwork, including the Online Certification Form must be submitted to Germanna Veterans Services prior to the payment due date. A Veterans Services representative will contact you if anything else is required.

To make sure your benefits are in place, contact Germanna Veterans Services at vservices@germanna.edu.

Please note that some Veterans’ Benefits do not cover mandatory fees or ACCESS course materials fees, and any amount they do not cover would need to be paid by the student before the due date.  If you are not sure what you may owe, please contact us.

Tuition Waiver

Students using the Senior Waiver or Continuous Learning Waiver programs must be sure to submit application documents within the specified timeframes. Once the waiver has been applied, you should see a reduction in the charges you owe on your Student Account.

Please note that these waivers do not cover ACCESS course materials fees, so this amount would need to be paid by the student before the due date.  If you are not sure what you may owe, please contact us.

Prepaid State College Plan (VA529, etc.)

To use funds from a College Savings Plan, you will need to contact the company that holds the plan (the plan administrator) and complete an “Intent to Enroll” form.  Some plans require this every semester. Once the plan has been applied, you should see a reduction in the charges you owe on your Student Account.

If the funds will not be received before payment is due, we would need to receive written confirmation of the pending payment from the company that handles the plan, indicating 1) the dollar amount that will be sent, 2) the student the payment is for, and 3) that the payment is being sent directly to Germanna.  Once we have received this information (from the plan administrator), we can protect your classes until the payment is received.
