At Germanna, we're committed to providing ESL (English as a Second Language) resources to English learners and supporting international students throughout their academic journey.

Improve your English language skills

In Germanna's ESL classes and services, we warmly welcome students of all backgrounds, regardless of their immigration status. Our goal is to provide a variety of experiential learning opportunities to build and improve English reading, writing, and speaking skills.

  1. Apply online or in person by visiting a Germanna campus
  2. Meet with an Admissions Coach. Your coach will help review your application, residency status, and documentation status, and, if needed, refer you to the Testing Center to help Germanna place you in the right class.
  3. Meet with a counselor or advisor to assess your English level and discuss your college plan.
  4. Register for classes.
  5. Pay for classes. Review tuition deadlines and have a plan to pay for your courses on time. Your counselor or advisor can schedule a meeting for you to meet with a Financial Aid staff member, if needed.
  6. Prepare for the first day of classes. Review your course schedule for times, dates, and locations, and confirm that you have all course materials needed for class.
