Germanna Bear Necessities
Germanna has Food Pantries available at the Fredericksburg Area Campus, the Locust Grove Campus, and the Barbara J. Fried Center in Stafford. In these pantries, students can find staples, canned foods, cereal, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, fresh and frozen proteins, personal hygiene products, and diapers and formula when available. In partnership with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and Feeding American, these pantries are a part of the Healthy Pantry Initiative (HPI). This program prioritizes offering shoppers healthy food options and tools to make meals that fit their definition of healthy.

SNAP Enrollment
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP provides a monthly benefit to individuals and families through an Electronic Benefits Card (EBT) to supplement the purchase of nutritious foods. Research from SCHEV estimates that nearly 25% of VCCS students would be eligible for SNAP, but only a tiny fraction of them received SNAP benefits.
Through the use of Single Stop, Germanna helps students determine eligibility for SNAP benefits. We also have SNAP 50/50 support specialists who can help you with your SNAP application. Email SNAP@germanna.edu for more information.
