Associates of Arts (AA), Associates of Science (AS), or Associates of Applied Science Degree (AAS)
For students who desire to obtain a BSHS or a BSHS/MSHS dual degree from GW Admission to clinical-based degree programs at GW are competitive and not guaranteed under the GAA
Cumulative 3.0 in Nursing and overall 3.0 at the VCCS.
Acceptance Status
Obtained an A.D.N. from a nursing program in VCCS that is NLNAC accredited.
Unencumbered U.S. license as an RN and evidence of current employment that requires use of nursing knowledge and expertise at the times.
Completed prerequisite coursework
Prerequisites
Human Anatomy and Physiology (6-8 credits), Microbiology (3-4 credits), Statistics (3 credits), Nutrition (3 credits), and Ethics (3 credits)
Required but may be taken in the A.D.N. program: English (6 credits), Math (3 credits), and Humanities/Social Sciences (12 credits). Any of these general education courses not completed as a part of the A.D.N. may be applied toward the additional general education requirements needed at GWU (See agreement Table 1).
Students accepted under the agreement will be required to complete 21 credits of course work and submit a portfolio (a review of their clinical practice-worth 15 credits).
