What is Follett Access?
The Follett Access program is a partnership between Germanna Community College and our bookstore vendor, Follett, that automatically gives students access to required course materials for participating courses at a discounted price.
The cost for these digital materials is automatically applied to your tuition and fees invoice as a “course materials fee”, and the materials will be available on or before your first day of class through either Canvas or one of the bookstore’s eBook partners, Kortext.com or RedShelf.com.
This program benefits students by offering the convenience of paying for course materials with tuition and fees, eliminating the wait time in bookstore lines and shipping costs, and increasing student success by ensuring that all students are prepared on the first day of class.
Note that some third parties do not pay Follett Access course material fees, including Senior Citizens waiver, GIBill® benefits, Veterans benefits, Virginia Prepaid 529 plans, and other waivers. In these cases, students are responsible for paying the Follett Access fee.
