Financial Assistance is available through multiple programs and grants including, but not limited to, FastForward, FANTIC and FANTIC-G3. This funding is limited, and requests will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis.

How to Get Started

Applicants should make an appointment with a Workforce advisor prior to submitting this application. Your advisor will work with you to create your student profile and answer any questions you may have about the program requirements.

Required Documents

Please collect the following documents and combine them into a single pdf file. This will help us process your application in the quickest possible manner.

After we receive your application, we'll send (to the email address you provide in your application) a secure link that you can use to transmit this file. Please use only this method to send us sensitive information.

Note that it is your responsibility to contact us if your email address or phone number changes.

Applications with incomplete documentation will not be considered.

Valid ID: driver's license, state-issued ID, or passport

Proof of Residency: Utility bill, housing contract, voter registration card, rent receipt, or bank statement with your name visible. Pictures of envelopes will not be accepted.

Selective Service Acknowledgement (male applicants only): Verify your status here. If you were not required to file, provide documents that show when you entered the U.S.

Financial Need Verification: 2023 Federal Tax Return Transcript or current SNAP benefits statement.

If you're submitting a tax return transcript,

  • Submit your own (if you are over age 24 and cannot be claimed as a dependent), OR
  • Submit a transcript of the return of the family member claiming you as a dependent or providing support (if you are under age 24 and receiving substantial financial support from a family member, or if you are being claimed as a dependent).

If your financial situation changed within the last year, or the tax transcript is not available, submit a Letter of Appeal from the IRS as proof of non-filer status.

Have you been awarded FANTIC, G3, or other Workforce financial aid in the past year?*
Are you currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program?*
Did you move to Virginia from another state for the purpose of attending school?*

Short Answer Questions

The parties agree that this application may be electronically signed. The parties agree that the electronic signatures appearing on this application are the same as handwritten signatures for the purposes of validity, enforceability, and admissibility.
