Foster Youth Support
The Great Expectations program helps current and former foster youth transition into college. Great Expectations provides participants with support and information on applying to Germanna, being a successful student, and planning for life after college. Great Expectations students receive one-on-one mentoring, attend workshops and training, and participate in social activities.
Great Expectations is a statewide program that was founded in 2008. The mission of the program is to help Virginia’s foster youth complete high school, gain access to a community college education and transition successfully to living independently.
