PTK By The Numbers:

1918

The year students and college presidents of eight Missouri junior colleges for women met and formed Phi Theta Kappa, modeled after the prestigious honor society for four-year college students, Phi Beta Kappa.

May 16, 1986

Germanna's PTK chapter was chartered on this date. We celebrate our chapter birthday near this day each year.

November 19, 1929

Phi Theta Kappa recognized by the American Association of Junior Colleges (now the American Association of Community Colleges) as the official honor society for two-year colleges.

PTK celebrates Founder's Day on November 19th for this reason.
