Gladys P. Todd Academy

The Gladys P. Todd Academy prepares students in Fredericksburg City and Spotsylvania County for college success and allows them to complete their transferable associate degree from Germanna while still in high school.

Classes are taken at the Fredericksburg Area Campus in Spotsylvania County.

Application Requirements

To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Be a rising junior at a participating high school
Pursuing an Advanced Studies Diploma
Completed Algebra II or higher by the end of their sophomore year
Completed three verified credits by the end of sophomore year
Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
In good disciplinary standing with the high school

Germanna will request transcripts from your high school to confirm applicants meet, or are on track to meet, all requirements as part of the application process.

Meet with your high school counselor to discuss your eligibility.

Write an essay of approximately 500 words responding to the following prompt:

Choose a favorite quotation from a book/song/movie/artist/mentor/etc. that reflects a part of your identity. Share the quotation (and source) and explain how the quote reflects both your personal sense of self and your academic goals.

Be sure to emphasize the relevance of the quotation to both your personal definition of who you are and your academic aspirations.
