Red Sand Project

March 31, 2026 · 1 p.m. · Fredericksburg Area Campus

Courtyard sidewalk

Join Germanna for the Red Sand Project, a participatory art initiative by artist Molly Gochman that raises awareness about human trafficking and exploitation.

Participants place red sand into sidewalk cracks to symbolize individuals who “fall through the cracks” due to trafficking, exploitation, and modern slavery. This simple act creates a powerful visual reminder and sparks important conversations across our community.

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to take part. Stop by, add a handful of sand, and help raise awareness about this critical issue.

Together, we can shine a light on human trafficking and show that our community cares.
