The Germanna Together Gala was a huge success, as the community came together to support local students and honor an inspirational Germanna figure.
The Gala, held on Saturday, July 15, raised $400,000 for Germanna Cares, which is essential in keeping students in the classroom and on the path to success. The funds raised will help to make an immediate impact on students’ lives, providing them with emergency assistance, technology support, clothing and food resources, and transportation.
The event was also a celebration of Dr. Patti Lisk, who, after 37 years of working at Germanna, is retiring. During her time at the College, Dr. Lisk has held a number of positions within the nursing and health technologies program, transforming the nursing curriculum and shaping the future for local nurses in our community. She has left an impact on students, faculty, and community members, and the College hopes to continue her legacy. To honor her countless contributions to Germanna, the College announced that its new virtual hospitals will be named after Dr. Lisk.
Among the guests at the Gala were U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger, a representative from Senator Tim Kaine’s office, local philanthropist Joe Daniel, and Dr. David Doré, Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System.
We would like to thank each of the event sponsors and donors for helping to make this night special.
