After dedicating nearly 40 years of her professional career to Germanna, Dr. Patti Lisk, Dean of Nursing and Health Technologies, is retiring at the end of the summer.

Dr. Patti Lisk joined Germanna’s nursing faculty in 1986, holding a number of administrative and instructional positions at the College. She has revolutionized Germanna’s nursing program, creating innovative learning opportunities for nursing students and building a statewide online nursing program.

We would like to thank Dr. Lisk for the pivotal role that she has played at Germanna and in our community. She has made a lasting impact on our college, students, and even community partners, who were inspired by her dedication and drive. “Since her first day at Germanna, Dr. Lisk has been an open and responsive partner with Mary Washington Healthcare,” says Eileen Dohmann, previous Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer of Mary Washington Healthcare.

“Whether she was creating new academic programs, recruiting MWHC nurses to teach at Germanna, or giving students the opportunity to work as nursing assistants at MWHC during the pandemic, there truly was no better partner than Dr. Lisk.”
