We are excited to offer our newly expanded food pantry at our Fredericksburg Area Campus, made possible through our partnerships with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and the Rappahannock Food Pantry.
Bear Necessities will offer staple food items, canned goods, fresh and frozen fruits, vegetables, and meats, and personal care items. To offer healthier options for students, we are partnering with Virginia’s Healthy Pantry Initiative, a movement that ensures nutritious choices are easily accessible. Upon entering the food pantry, students will see colored stickers on each food item. The color of the sticker will inform students of the item’s level of nutrition. Germanna staff will be on hand to assist students in understanding the color guide.
In addition to the new Bear Necessities food pantry, Germanna continues to offer its drive-thru style mobile food pantry service, providing a convenient way for students and community members to access resources. Food can be ordered through the OrderAhead platform, then picked up on our Locust Grove or Fredericksburg Area Campuses.
