Germanna’s Alpha Lambda Psi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society held its annual induction ceremony on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Virginia Credit Union Stadium. 

The ceremony recognized the outstanding academic achievements of 112 Germanna students. These students represent the top 10% of Germanna’s student body, as they have earned and sustained a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher throughout their college journey.

Established in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is recognized as the official honor society of two-year colleges. It aims to honor the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programming. 

The Alpha Lambda Psi Chapter at Germanna was founded in 1986. Since then, the Chapter has grown tremendously, with over 600 active members and international recognition as a 5-star chapter.

Among those who attended the induction ceremony were Dr. Tiffany Ray-Patterson, Vice President of Student Services & Equity Advancement and Chief Diversity Officer, who delivered the keynote address for the event, and the Phi Theta Kappa advisors, Samantha Sharkey and Dr. Frank Cirioni.
