We were proud to partner with local faith-based organization, Kingdom Family Worship Center, to host our first ever Germanna Community Connection Day on Saturday, June 10.
This outreach event came as a direct result of our annual Faith + Community event, held in October, where we convene with local faith leaders to discuss how we can work closely together to support our communities. This year’s Faith + Community event focused on the intersectionality of faith and higher education. We collaborated with leaders from local churches to identify ways we could introduce Germanna to their congregations and to the community as a whole.
Germanna Community Connection Day was organized in partnership with Bishop Joseph Henderson, pastor of the Kingdom Family Worship Center, who was eager to host an outreach event at his church. We brought representatives from several Germanna departments to share the College’s offerings with attendees, giving an inside look at what it would be like to attend Germanna. We also hosted giveaways, where we gifted iPads, scholarships, and Germanna swag.
With over 100 attendees, our first Germanna Community Connection Day was a huge success. We continue to show our commitment to partnering with local organizations and forging greater connections throughout the community.
