Atlantic Builders and its trade partners donated $25,000 to the Germanna Educational Foundation recently as part of its annual Give Back Home philanthropy program.
In the program’s sixth year, Atlantic Builders and its partners donated $550,000 to local organizations: Loisann’s Hope House, the Germanna Educational Foundation, Rappahannock United Way, Goodwill Industries Rappahannock, Stafford Junction, Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg, Fredericksburg Area SPCA and SAWs Virginia. Atlantic Builders’ employees also chose to include HOPE International in the Give Back Homes recipient list.
“Atlantic Builders and their Trade Partners serve their communities with generosity and purpose,” said Germanna President Janet Gullickson. “Their efforts inspire all of us at Germanna to do better because that is our shared commitment, too.”
Bruce Davis, Germanna's Special Assistant to the President for Institutional Advancement, said: "Atlantic Builder’s continues to amaze me with their dedication to developing our area’s workforce. They are a model citizen in my book, making Fredericksburg and our surrounding [area] a better place to live and work."
Germanna serves about 13,000 students—combining for-credit students and non-credit workforce training students— in the city of Fredericksburg and the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, Culpeper, Orange, Caroline, King George and Madison counties.
This year Loisann’s Hope House was the primary recipient, receiving $250,000. In past years, the Germanna Educational Foundation has twice been the primary recipient of the program.
Loisann’s Hope House is the Fredericksburg region’s oldest and largest family homeless shelter, with a mission of breaking the cycle of homelessness.
