October 7, 2022 - June 30, 2026

Ann Marie J. Anderson is a lifelong resident of Culpeper County. Along with her husband Brett, they have three boys: John William, a current recruit with the Fairfax Fire Department, Benjamin, a senior at Bridgewater College and Nicholas, a second-year student at James Madison University. She graduated from Bridgewater College with Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and went on to teach first and third grades in the Culpeper County Public School Division. She also opened her own business, The Learning Tree, a teacher’s supply store in Culpeper. Knowing firsthand that finding teachers supplies was difficult at best, she decided to help local teachers by providing a way to help teachers as well as children and parents. The Learning Tree provided classroom essentials as well as books/workbooks/educational games and a variety of art supplies that many teachers needed on a daily basis.

While her children were growing up, she became involved in all the activities in which they were involved in including Cub Scouts, baseball, soccer, basketball, football, school and church. She was a Board member for the Rappahannock Culpeper Baseball League, Cub Scout Leader, PTO President and Board member, Culpeper High School Athletic Booster Board member. She also volunteered with Culpeper Little League, Culpeper Soccer Association, Sunday school, church vacation Bible school and Christmas program leader, Culpeper Athletics and the Culpeper Volunteer Farm.

Education and Germanna have always been important to Ann Marie as her father, John H. Jenkins was a teacher, principal and Germanna Board Member. Germanna was a household word growing up and fostered an early love and admiration for what Germanna has been able to accomplish for so many individuals. She looks forward to being part of Germanna and continuing her father’s legacy.
