We are excited to announce that Germanna has been awarded the 2023 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. This prestigious award recognizes colleges and universities across the country that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. Germanna’s receipt of this award acknowledges the hard work that our faculty, staff, and students put in to foster an equitable and inclusive environment for all.
INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine selected Germanna as a HEED Award recipient because of the impactful work done as a result of the Truth & Reconciliation Plan, established in 2020. In the wake of George Floyd’s death, Germanna took the charge and stood up against the racial injustices occurring nationwide. The College created the Truth & Reconciliation Plan to show its commitment to being an anti-racist institution and better serving and attracting students of color. The Germanna community continues to work together, transforming the learning environment and building a stronger, more inclusive campus culture.
