A transfer nursing student is defined as a student with prior satisfactory nursing coursework who wishes to complete their nursing degree at GCC. Nursing students from other institutions may transfer into Germanna’s Nursing program. Students must have 25% of their coursework completed for the degree from the institution they wish to graduate and receive a degree. 

Requirements

1. The student must apply to Germanna Community College.
   
2. Meet with a college advisor and complete the transfer evaluation process.

3. Meet with Department Chair Contact to review the transfer credits and possible placement within GCC Nursing Program.

  • Email unofficial transcript and syllabi from nursing courses you wish to be evaluated for GCC credit to Department Chair Contact

4. Complete all requirements for application. Students will apply in the portal during the nursing admission cycle for fall and spring semesters.   

  • Admissions testing from previous school may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. 

5. The Dean of Nursing and/or the Leadership team will consider the transfer request and will make the final decision for admission.
