Level 1

Technology in Mechatronics

This level prepares you to earn your Manufacturing Technician 1, OSHA 10, and AutoCAD Certified User credentials. The curriculum includes:

  • College Success Skills
  • Industrial Safety
  • Computer Aided Drafting and Design I
  • Materials and Processes of Industry
  • D.C. and A.C. Fundamentals I
  • Topics In Industrial Engineering Technology

Level 2

Advanced Technology in Mechatronics

The curriculum includes:

  • Basic Technical Mathematics
  • Introduction to Digital and Information Literacy and Computer Applications or Computer Business Applications
  • D.C. and A.C. Fundamentals II
  • Introduction to Mechatronics
  • Applied Hydraulics and Pneumatics

Level 3

Mechatronics Associate of Applied Science

This degree prepares you to transfer to an eligible partner to earn your Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.

Get started while still in high school.

Our Dual Enrollment Mechatronics Academy offers a full-year, in-person learning experience designed to give you a solid foundation in Mechatronics technology.

  • Future engineering technicians seeking hands-on experience with advanced technologies
  • Aspiring engineers looking for a solid foundation for further studies
  • Rising seniors from Stafford County Public Schools and Fredericksburg City Public Schools

A Germanna G3 Program

Germanna's Mechatronics program is included in G3, which provides tuition assistance for any Virginia resident who:

  • Qualifies for in-state tuition
  • Has a total household income of less than or equal to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level
  • Is enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours at Germanna in a designated Germanna G3 program
  • Has applied for federal and/or state financial aid

How G3 works

G3 program funds make up the difference between what federal or state financial aid pays for and the cost of tuition, fees, and books for the program.

Career Options for Technology in Mechatronics Certifications

In-Demand Jobs:

  • Mechatronics Technician: Work in assembly, maintenance, and service. Build and install electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical assemblies and systems.
  • Manufacturing Technician: Set up, run, and maintain manufacturing equipment and assembly processes to make distinct products in a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical Technician: Responsible for creating, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment.
